KILIMANJARO, Tanzania – Although the fundraiser is not over, getting home safely and having time to reflect has provided me with the opportunity to appreciate how lucky I am to have been able to experience the rich culture of East Africa and understand on a personal level their daily struggles.

BAGAMOYO, Tanzania – When you walk in the classroom you immediately sense the difference. A unique air not so much caused by the spartan room conditions but by the individuals occupying the rustic desks.

BAGAMOYO, Tanzania – Hakuna Matata (from the lion king) means no problem in Swahili which is what the drivers kept saying to me when I asked about the bag, but now it is here and everything is perfect.
